We are off to enjoy half term a little.
So could I leave this .

One of the aspects of the 3rd Level is letting God so deal with us to an extreme level

that we at the right time, function in a reconciling role , but this time it's Christ as Us...it's God moving through us by the Spirit to help engineer a restoration process.

As I have no time all I can point to is

1/ Joseph shown by God how to react to his brothers...in such a way as they face up to the awfulness of what they've done.
This was only after years of prison dealings.

2/
Peter addressing Israel in his first sermon.
"This Jesus who you crucified..."
But by now he had the grace having
reached a rockbottom repentance for denying Jesus himself.Chris Welch - 07000INTUNEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17932291173536070080noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13792024.post-44636989610695815882008-10-24T09:17:00.000+01:002008-10-24T09:17:00.000+01:00much to saybut dashing around with pianosmuch to say
but dashing around with pianosChris Welch - 07000INTUNEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17932291173536070080noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13792024.post-890662662196576302008-10-22T19:34:00.000+01:002008-10-22T19:34:00.000+01:00Yes - thanks again for your wisdom in this Pete, a...Yes - thanks again for your wisdom in this Pete, and for your unseen emails, texts, phone chats, advice and support. You're a friend that I treasure so much! And am grateful to Peter Cockrell for introducing us - who would have known!??

It's very interesting this issue - I was really encouraged to read John Piper's "Future Grace" (I was positive I could remember Piper had spoken about forgiving but just couldn't remember where). He of course stands firm on the Word of God and it's insistence that we must forgive, but he doesn't reflect anything of this "just get over it" angle - he doesn't downgrade how hard it may be;

Here's a quote;

"What gives so much force to the impulse of anger in such cases is the overwhelming sense that the offender does not deserve forgiveness. That is, the grievance is so deep and so justifiable that not only does self-righteousness strengthen our indignation but so does a legitimate sense of moral outrage. It's the deep sense of legitimancy that gives our bitterness its unbending compulsion. We feel that a great crime would be committed if the magnitude of the evil we've experienced were just dropped and we let bygones by bygones. We are torn; our moral sense says this evil cannot be ignored and the Word of God says we must forgive".Dan Bowenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15661120561123767936noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13792024.post-7443673637670174792008-10-22T16:47:00.000+01:002008-10-22T16:47:00.000+01:00Wow, thank you Pete, that was well worth the wait!...Wow, thank you Pete, that was well worth the wait!! A lot of times Christians look at good principles and biblical things and turn them into simple have to's, thereby missing the reality that we cannot just "get over it" apart from the awesome grace of God. It sounds godly to just say, you need to forgive, but it's heartless, and lacks compassion. We need to realize God is compassionate and gracious and so patient. It's only because of Him and by Him that we can forgive........!! And it's a process!! Thanks for your words of wisdom today, I heartily agree with all that you shared!! And I would also heartily agree that Dan, your blog is a light and a beacon that is setting other beacons alight! You are a blessing more than you know!!! Keep burning!!!lydiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01495924200222561417noreply@blogger.com
