How do you keep hope when all seems lost?

No really ... I'm asking.

remembering there is nowhere we can go
nothing we can do
that can undo
what HAS happened at the Cross
and therefore the inevitability
that everything is going to work out for us individually
but in the huge plan too.

The losing of everything is like the seed of everything we thought was us
crumbling,
breaking open,
self-destructing
in the brown muddy soil
in the dark,
forgotten about,
where what we were
becomes as nothing
to our new form
a sprouting
shooting up to the surface
now seed bearing plant
that by its own life
breaks through surfaces
into the sunlight.

Meditating on Hatikvah,

(translation from wiki)

Our hope is not yet lost,
The hope of two thousand years,
To be a free people in our land,
The land of Zion and Jerusalem.
