A New Transcript - Terry Virgo Prophesies at CCK, Brighton!

" ... I want you to know that I have not called you to a static path. I have not called you to be the defender only of what you have thus far. I don't want you to have a fortress mentality. I want you to know the excitement of pressing on, experiencing more and going on with Me - this is My call to you. I call you to grow, this is not something that you frighten you or seem strange to you - this is the great essence of life, that you grow. Therefore I say to you, beware of the dangers of defending everything you know, standing only secure in what you have proved. I call you to the adventure of learning new things ... "

This reminds me of your Pioneers vs Settlers post of some months ago!! Wasn't it that Settlers are absorbed with defending truth - whereas Pioneers are bent on setting truth free?!

Awesome.

That's a good and exciting prophecy to read in a day and age when the Christian internet world is filling up with a lot of debate, discussion, gossip and backbiting. Interesting isn't it that John Piper himself speaks of people who have "too much time" when he has come under fire himself. Let me urge you - stick to what really counts for the Kingdom of God and don't get caught up in the temptation to gossip.

Following James B's comments I read some of your stuff on pioneers and settlers. When I first joined a SGM chuch back in 95' Larry Tomczack was still leading the movement. Our church was using a tape series Larry taught called ''foundations" as an indroductory course to the church and movement. I love those teachings, and still listen to a couple of them every now and then. My favorite is "Are You a Pioneer or a Settler?"

Hi Russell, thanks for the comment - great to hear from you. I would love to of heard some of that teaching material! The only "Pioneer/Settler" material I've read was from Gerald Coates originally and I'm sure Larry Tomczak went into it in a bit more depth!

It's a great concept and while originally written for a few decades, I think it still has great truth for today.

Thanks Clarie! That sounds amazing and would have loved to come but unfortunately I'm away for the day in my old home town of Dunstable so don't think I'll be back in time! :( Do let me know if there are any other events because it would be great to meet up and chat!

Great Word - I'm so excited by how the life of faith in Christ is always one of pioneering and pilgrimmage...we live in exciting and inspiring times.
