Seeing Grace Everywhere!!

I've had a weird couple of days (some things great, some things terrible!) - went up to visit Pete Day at "Life in the Spirit Conference" in Derbyshire and we had an awesome time together catching up (we haven't seen each other for almost a year) and soaking in the glory. God used Pete to almost "commission" me to go to Hong Kong and to catch the fire and bring it back to the UK. While we were praying I had two awesome visions which profoundly affected us both.

1. The first was that as I was lying on his bed I saw the roof lift off and a heavenly glory whirlwind began to circle around and around and angels began coming up and down. But what struck me was the fact that in the glory "distance" is nothing at all. As we go to Hong Kong there will be a sort of "portal" left open so that Pete can experience the full downloads of blessing and glory as the conference is going on.

2. The second was I saw a huge angel with a burning torch come into the room as we were praying. And I thought it would be something like Isaiah and our lips would be touched. But weirdly the angel touched both our feet and the feet set on fire with a beautiful golden flame. And I saw us walking around but as we walked there were footprints left - and each footprint burned with glory. As we flew to Hong Kong there was a golden flame slip-stream left arching over Russia and China. As Pete drove back to London from the conference there was a glory trail left behind him!

So it was great to come back fresh with that anointing ready and looking forward to Hong Kong and all it has in store! But then while I was driving I was listening to Todd Bentley speak on "Baptisms of Fire" and he started off very well - by challenging the charismatic traditions of men that have reduced the baptism of the Holy Spirit to just merely speaking in tongues. He said that too many of us are satisfied we have "got the baptism" simply by speaking in tongues every now and then but we wouldn't dream about healing the sick.

But then he began to slip into preaching law by speaking of the healers in the fifties and sixties who got their anointing by prayer and fasting and thirsting. And he insisted again and again that the ONLY way we will get baptisms of power of this magnitude is by prayer and fasting and thirsting and (Todd called it); "Paying the price".

Suddenly I began to understand why Todd Bentley fell away. He was trying to exceed the anointing that was upon Smith Wigglesworth and Kathryn Kuhlman but by exceeding THEIR "price". So I imagine that he did nothing but pray and fast! And burnt out. And missed the point. Because why will God pour out baptisms of power in response to a work of self-righteousness?

In the end I had to turn the CD off - I couldn't take it anymore!

Finally I've been reading a few books trying to understand imputed righteousness and justification by faith a bit more. I brought "Preaching the Cross" by the Together for the Gospel foursome at the "Life in the Spirit" bookshop as well as some of Sam Storms latest books. It generally wasn't too bad - particularly this quote by R C Sproul. Then I read "Counted Righteous in Christ" by John Piper again and was absolutely thrilled to see these well-known and favourite hymns of mine but in New Covenant lenses!

"No condemnation now I dread,

Jesus and all in Him is mine,

Alive in Him, my living Head

And clothed in righteousness divine!

Bold I approach the eternal throne

And claim the crown through Christ my own!"

"When He shall come with trumpet sound,

O may I then in Him be found,

Dressed in His righteousness alone,

FAULTLESS to stand before the throne!"

"We trust in you O Captain of salvation,

In Your dear Name, all other names above,

Jesus our righteousness, our sure foundation,

Our prince of glory and our king of love".

Look Up and See the Salvation of Your God!!

I had a really odd experience today walking home - but one that God spoke to me powerfully and taught me from. It's been a really hard, horrid two long days at work. I am becoming increasingly convinced that a children's hospice is where the most vulnerable people of the most vulnerable people group in our country come. It's my personal belief that such children deserve the utmost and highest care, respect and love and protection. What do you do when there is an individual there who resembles one of the unpleasant guards of Azkaban - seeming to get pleasure from controlling other more vulnerable people and ensuring that no fun or spontaneity happens apart from under their control? You pray. Obviously. But you hope, trust and long that the glory would so flood and fill and overflow through you that the demonic power that maybe present would be banished and those vulnerable children protected from that controlling power.

That - I hope - sets something of my horrid two days in context. It riles me beyond belief almost as much as in church when controlling spirits run rife within a children's hospice where desperate and needy people need love and protection - and simply get told to "behave" and live up to an expected standard. So I was walking home inwardly raging and trying to calm down, but at the same time listening to Ryan and Kylie Rufus's thrilling; "Impartation Meeting After Florida Trip". So to add to my stress from work came a deep pang of hunger that why oh why can't God teleport me into Hong Kong so I could receive this impartation on a foundation of grace!? (Ryan said he would be watching out for me to appear in City Church!!).

I suddenly began to get that sixth sense feeling that there were two individuals closely following me - and let me make it clear, I saw their shadows. There were a group of lads across the road on bikes so I assumed they had spotted me. I wasn't particularly keen to get mugged or jumped. Although I could always get another IPOD, I've got virtually all of City Church's sermons on it, as well as Lansdowne Evangelical Church's and Church of Christ the King's! It would be most tedious to have to re-load them! I did the typical thing of speeding up my walking but they kept up with me. I began to feel quite scared and upset as it was a dark, shadowy street.

I reached a certain point on the street and suddenly I heard God audibly speak in my spirit and He said; "Turn around". I did so and saw no-one and nothing there. The street was absolutely deserted. The fear and upset left me instantly and was replaced with peace. But this was what was weird - as I turned round, I saw the two shadows again! I looked around again and saw nothing and no one. And God paused and then said this;

"Do you see that FEAR IS THE MISTAKE OF NOT PROPERLY LOOKING AT THE OBJECT THAT CAUSES THE EMOTION. What do you fear the most?

Do you fear losing your friends or upsetting them? Look closely and look up! Any friends to whom I have called you to be together with, to seek Me with will stand with you in relationship whatever difficulties - for the unity I give you is an organic unity devoid of institution! Do you fear that the angel feather you saw will be the only evidence of angels that you will ever see? Look closely and look up! Two angels are following you for I have given them to you to minister to you and to guard you and to watch over you! Look further up still - legions of angels stand arrayed across the heavens singing; "Glory to God in the highest!".

Do you fear that the outpouring of My Spirit that I have given in Florida will be one that you miss? Look closely and look up! Hear what I have promised - this is a contageous, infectious, air-bourne outpouring! Even now it is catching the winds and the breezes of My Spirit and it's nectar can be smelt approaching Europe's shores! Do you fear that you will never see My face? Look closely and look up! The veil ALREADY stands torn! The way is ALREADY open! It is only your fear that keeps your head bowed, and your eyes lowered. Do you fear that you are not worthy and you should "examine yourself"? Look closely and look up! Did I ask you to examine yourself? I don't accept you on the examination of yourself - but the examination of My Son! And I - God the Just - am satisfied to look on Him and pardon you!

Why else does My Word command you to not fear again and again? Fear is the mistake of not looking properly at the object that causes the emotion. I call you eagerly - look closely and look up at your fears, your worries for they are nothing! My glory is coming! My glory is already here and among you! And it will be those who don't fear for they stand on a foundation of grace who will enjoy the full, unfettered, no limits of this great "Feast of Tabernacles" outpouring!".

I walked back weeping tears of joy but so humbled because once again God had touched the very hidden inner depths of my fears. And I HAD been fearing! Even listening to Ryan and Kylie overflowing in Hong Kong made me worry and fear again that I had "missed the moment" simply because I couldn't afford to fly to Florida. But even looking at that very fear - almost with a post-dated word of knowledge, Ryan Rufus spoke on the MP3 and answered that!

"These are hot coals of impartation that man CAN'T put out because man didn't start and man doesn't need to keep going!".

I wasn't integral in starting the Lakeland Outpouring (!!!!) and I certainly won't be integral in halting it (God forbid!) - this is a sovereign move and it is in God's sovereign hands! I guess this final word that God said to me was screened through my interpretation of the Message Bible;

"So CHILL OUT, RELAX AND ENJOY ME!!".

Angel Feathers Appearing!!

Okay - I have debated all day whether to post this or not. Because I am ashamed to say that I want to be well thought of. I'm proud of my theological library and love it - and don't want people thinking I am becoming a charismaniac (although I am!). My elder sister commented rather ironically one of the last times I saw her that she thinks I am becoming a "God TV-fanatic". I still do believe in the principle of Word and Spirit - of reformed doctrine and charismatic experience! I still love theologians and academics - but I am not going to govern my life anymore about being well thought of. This event happened to me and it was witnessed by two non-Christians and I want to share it! These events are called "Signs and Wonders" for a reason. They are a sign because they point to the Living One who rules over all and sends angels and they are a "wonder" because they make us think ... so I will share it!

I was working a night shift at the hospice last night and about 02:00 in the morning we went in to check one of the children and turn them so they didn't get sore. As we did so, this feather fluttered down through the air and fell on the child. It didn't come from the ceiling. It just .... fluttered down. We all looked at it rather puzzled and picked it up. The hospice doesn't have goose feather duvets on the beds so it couldn't have come from there. We just couldn't figure out where it came from.


Each of us in turn picked it up and as each of us did (and bear in mind my other two collegues were both non-Christians) we all got goose-bumps and a cold shiver swept over us. My collegues decided that it was related to a child who died yesterday in the hospice and that she was "still around". I on the other hand was carrying it around and looking at it and getting continual shivers and decided I think it MUST be a sign of angelic presence in the hospice! This didn't happen in a church meeting or in a conference with a signs and wonders speaker. This happened in my place of work and during a night shift!


There could be some "rational" reason I am sure that some could think up. But you know what? I am so thrilled, touched and excited. Heaven is breaking through into the earth realm. I have always believed that there has been a strong angelic presence in the hospice. The children are the most vulnerable and special children you could hope to meet and I really fervently believe that the love of God is being poured out upon those dear children. I believe He has sent angels to guard and to protect those children. It's quite a sobering thought - to ensure I do the best job I can do as a children's nurse! Angels are walking with me. Angels are watching me and the children they are charges over. If I don't treat them with the utmost care that they as children deserve then I've got angels to answer to!

Hebrews 1:14: "Angels ... Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?".

Rob Rufus on Angelic Visitations

In light of my 700th post asking where have the angels and demons gone (if anywhere) I was interested in listening to Rob speaking on "Invading the Impossible - Part 12" to hear him make the following comments (reporting on the "Grace and Glory Conference" held in Sydney recently).

"There is something abnormal if the Church today doesn't have angelic visitations".

"Any angel that comes to you - don't worship that angel! That angel comes to help you worship Jesus - to minister to you. Jesus was ministered to by angels when He was so exhausted after His wilderness experience. So angels were seen and actually many saw angels outside the the meetings. While they were walking through the streets of Sydney, people saw angels standing behind people. Angels reaching out to people and trying to save people".

"I am so glad that the Church is becoming normal again".

The Church is becoming NORMAL again! I am so provoked and excited by that! My question is being answered. They didn't go anywhere. We as a Church are beginning to realise that Christian life is not solely about cerebral academics and theology - but we are spiritual beings living in a spiritual world. And angels are sent from heaven to minister to us! They are here - we just need to look properly!

700th Post! ... Where Have All the Angels and Demons Gone?

Well another landmark - just a day after the 90,000 hit! I never thought that I would discover so much in the Christian world worth writing about! But there is so much richness especially when the grace of God falls upon your life and you become generally a lot more grateful and you find that you enjoy life much more! I have just walked back from a hospital appointment I had - and was sharing an experience that both Pete Day and I have found. Every thing just seems more "REAL" if that makes sense! Colours of grass, sky and flowers are more intense! The smell of the air (yes even in polluted Birmingham!) is so fresh! I just found myself listening to Isi de Gersigny on my IPOD singing a prophetic song and just loving being ALIVE!

So what should my 700th post be? I could talk about my favourite preachers and teachers and review what they have brought into my life or I could review some of my favourite books. No - I am going to avoid the more cerebral (there are plenty of blogs you can go to for that!) and I want to share a question that came to my mind while I was typing up Rob's sermon; "Do Our Diaries Reflect the Priorities of Heaven?". Rob said this;

"The most awesome angelic visitations the planet has ever had - the Bible predicts this! If falling and shaking confuses people and they think; "Can God do this?!" - what are they going to do when awesome things start happening?! That we walk on water and raise the dead!? When angels suddenly appear and we all see them with our own eyes and the angel speaks with the voice of the Ancient of Days! He says; "I am Gabriel - sent from the Third Heaven!". Those who have been walking in the Presence for for years will hear and simply lift their heands and worship the God of glory. Those who don't know the Presence and God and are just being religious will run out the room and not be ready for what is going to hit this planet!".

And the thought hit me. Where have all the angels and demons gone and I mean particularly in the Western world? It occured to me that I haven't heard angels and their presence expected in conferences since the Dales Bible Week 1976 and 1977 when they heard wonderful singing ... UNTIL the "Grace and Glory Conference" in Hong Kong! They did not only actively expect angels appearing to verify the word of grace that was being preached, but they prophesied angels appearing and indeed angels were seen by people - including myself!

I wanted to bring together a compendium of the prophecies at "Grace and Glory" in Hong Kong that were specific to angels. I say this not to become unhealthily obsessed with angels (for true angels will always point to Jesus) but to try and correct a lack in the Western church. Angels appeared throughout the Bible! Angels appeared in the early New Testament church! Angels should be appearing NOW.

On the first day at "Grace and Glory" Isi de Gersigny got up and prophesied a vision she had seen;

"Just as we were worshipping I had a real distinct sense of the healing angels just coming alongside some of you that are possibly struggling with some sickness, some on-coming flu. And I felt these angels (I've seen them before) have got red cross things on their shoulders. Some of them have moved in and were waiting to minister healing to people and the Lord wants to give you refreshing and healing so you are ready to start fresh and not labour under anything. That's part of our inheritance. So lift up your hands and receive the healing!".

During an incredibly powerful prophetic song, Fini de Gersigny prophesied this;

"When I was in prayer this morning for this time, I saw over this auditorium columns of angels exactly matching the rows of people who were worshipping. I just feel it is coming to pass right now that the Lord is saying; "I am standing with you - I have sent angels to guard you in all your ways. You are never alone, you are never standing alone, you are never fighting alone, you are never walking alone, you are never praying alone - I have sent My angels, My mighty warriors. I have stationed them and they are going back as far as the eye can see! Mighty angels to do His bidding, to minister to the saints, to minister to His people, to minister in the earth!

He has put victory in your spirits and the reason why we long to win is because God has called us to win! In the end of the Book we win! The Lord is saying; "Stand still and see the victory on your behalf". The battle belongs to the Lord! The battle belongs to the Lord! The battle belongs to the Lord! He is a mighty God! He is a mighty warrior!".

And then of course there was the incredible meeting when Ryan Rufus prophesied that angels would become our best friends! And immediately after that prophesy, I had a vision and emailed my friends back home with what happened and what I saw;

"As we were worshipping I got transported into the glory realm right to the throne room of God and I was alone in the Throne Room and could just see the feet of the throne and the blazing light coming from God and I cowered in the corner just feeling so small. But then I heard gentle, loving wonderful laughter!! It was coming from God!! And all He said was; "We've been waiting for you for quite a while!! What kept you!?!?" and I just fell on my feet in worship and tears. And as I lifted my hands in worship I suddenly saw that I was not alone in the throne room and that other believers were there!! You were there ... Allen was there ... all the conference people were there ... and as we were lifting our hands I suddenly saw crowns beautiful awesome crowns that made the Imperial State Crown look like a pathetic beret!! And all of us were crying and as the tears flowed down our faces they transformed into marvellous beautiful jewels!!

Each of us had different jewels - mine were blue and white diamonds!! Yours were red crimson!! But each tear flew to the crown and attached itself. And my angel who was still standing behind me said;"Every tear you shed in wonder and awe at God's grace and love - every act of pure kindness that you carried out motivated by love for God - everything comes together to become this crown. Nothing is lost". And I said; "What do we do with the crown?" and my angel said; "You can do what you like with it" but even as he said it we were all casting our crowns at the throne of God in worship because what else could we do?!!? And as the angel continued to stand behind me he suddenly said;"You know - we can't worship like you. The worship of the Redeemed carries a special place in the Father's heart. The worship of the saved grabs His attention like nothing else".

I didn't sense any jealousy in his heart at all - I sensed somehow just a wondering why we as Christians don't worship more!!".

What then am I asking for? Do I think that angels and demons don't operate anymore (such as theologians like John Macarthur seem to suggest)? No absolutely not. I see no reason on earth why angels and demons should withdraw into heaven and Hades respectively as we approach the consummation of the climax of the ages. I think they are most definately still active! I am absolutely positive an angel saved my life when my tyre blew out on the M25! And both Scott and I sensed the presence of angels in my car as we were driving down for my younger sister's baptisms at the SGM church in Bristol!

I am just asking that in church we open ourselves up to the supernatural realm and realise that angels are ministering to us. Angels are sent from heaven! I wanted to end this blog with a clip of ministry from City Church International in Hong Kong. Rob had just finished preaching one of the "Invading the Impossible" series and God fell upon the worship and the meeting. Rob described the meeting as;

"I think 90% of people were under the power of God on the floor, encounters with God".

Just hearing Rob ministering and the responses of the people is so faith-building to me! It had an amazing effect when Pete and I listened to it in his office! Despite the fact that we were in London and they were in Hong Kong, it was as though we still received the coming upon of the Spirit that Rob was ministering! I hope the same happens to you. I apologise for the quality - it was the only way I could get the exact clip;



May our lives begin to see more and more of the reality of heaven invading earth!

A Glimpse of Death to Make You Glad Your Alive!!

I have never been afraid to state my opinion. Coming from a family who don't talk that openly about a lot of things, it's something I have tried to counteract in my adult life. However the trouble with stating an opinion is that you are faced with a dilemma if you are proved wrong. You either ignore it and pretend that you didn't state your original opinion or you confess you were wrong and show evidence to the contrary. I took time to state my unhappiness with Mark Driscoll's ministry and why I wouldn't be going to "Together on a Mission" this July - but Terry Virgo and Luke Wood between them managed to convince me that the price would be too costly to miss Brighton altogether! So I admitted that.

Just so with my concern on an over-emphasis on the Cross of Christ. I have always been somewhat bothered with SGM's preference in this area. "We will never move beyond the Cross" and so on and so on. Ern Baxter preached a masterful sermon on the "Neglect of Resurrection" and I think that is still a problem. Surely Cross and Resurrection must stand of necessity together. If we are going to use the "Cross" as shorthand for the "Gospel" then let's be clear in preaching to make plain that there is more to the picture than Jesus hanging broken and bleeding on the Cross. The story didn't end there! Because if it had done our faith "would be in vain".

I am thrilled therefore to see that C J Mahaney took time to preach on this recently (HT: Tony Reinke) - the video just won't play on this website so here is the link. To make up for this lack of video footage I thought I would post some far more awesome quotes from Rob's last sermon on "Resurrection Power" - this is from "Invading the Impossible Part 11"!

"The Resurrection is more than a historical fact, it's more than a doctrine - it has to be a daily life experience ... When the Resurrection is preached not just as a historical fact, not just as doctrine but when it is preached with apostolic revelation of how the power of the resurrection relates to daily living then you will see much grace come upon the Church and great power for the miraculous will be manifested in the Church".

Great stuff.

And finally I've been relatively quiet this weekend because I had a near-death encounter that somewhat shook me up. I was driving down the M25 to a engagement and was in the fast lane (travelling under the speed limit for the cynics among you!) and my driver's front wheel blew out. I have never had this happen to me before so was somewhat terrified by the very loud bang and the resulting chaos. I must testify however to the manifest Presence of God in the car and on me at the time. I felt absolutely no terror or fear (until it was all over and I was a bit shaky!) - and I absolutely knew that it was not my time to die ... yet. Henceforth I was absolutely safe.

Those who know more about cars than I do tell me that I am incredibly fortunate - apparantly a driver's wheel blowing out at that speed should have caused at least an impressive overturning of the car but I absolutely knew that angels were present in the car enabling me to keep some degree of control over the car. My dear friend Julie said something very profound in an email to me when I told her about it - that I think is true:

"I'm convinced for every time we're aware of our lives being saved there are many more we're unaware of. Every time I drive by an accident that has happened minutes before I think of things that delayed me at the last minute and kept me from possibly being on that spot to be in the accident. It does shake you up though! The devil can't get rid of you that easily though I can see why he'd give it a shot!".

A Prophecy of Angels - Ministering Spirits!!

At present I am posting the prophecies that were given during the "Glory and Grace Conference" in Hong Kong on the Rob Rufus blog (here and here so far). I have mentioned about how outstanding the depth of the prophetic was during the conference and I have been trying to figure out why. Here's a couple of thoughts;

1. The Holy Spirit was let loose. I realise that sounds somewhat almost blasphemous because the Holy Spirit is God - He doesn't need to be let loose surely? Well in my 30 years of church experience, I've seen plenty of what the Word of God would call Him being "quenched". So I think "let loose" to burst in flame is actually quite accurate. During the conference Rob Rufus told us that he had promised God before the conference he wouldn't turn down a single prophecy. Obviously the fleshly and the heretical would be dealt with (of which I heard neither) - but he said that he was so tired of the prophetic being turned down. There was free reign at the conference! And I think the Holy Spirit took full advantage of that.

2. Prophecying for Mission. Cessationists delight in recounting prophecy after prophecy of self-delighting and self-worth. John MacArthur has many prophecies to recount in his various books for example. But in Hong Kong I heard again and again God's heart for the nations thunder out. And how in line with 1 Corinthians 14 is that? The unbelievers will come in, hear prophesying and fall down and say "God is truly among you!". For example one prophetic statement that kept occuring was; "China is Mine!". Another example came from a prophecy of Rob's;

"I am going to establish a move of My Spirit in Hong Kong that will touch the world". He said; "It won't primarily touch the church - it will touch the world. It will touch the church but it will touch the unsaved"

I suspect in my experience that the Holy Spirit gets excited when the church's heart matches His own to see the whole earth covered with the glory of the Lord.

I am thrilled that this particular prophecy was included on the CD because it proved quite catalytic for me personally. I shared here on my testimony of my time in Hong Kong that Ryan Rufus (Rob's son) prophesied about angels. As soon as he began prophesying I began to have a dramatic vision of an angel manifesting behind me and firing my worship to God. Well here is the transcript of the prophecy and what Ryan declared;

"God said to me the other day that these are the days that some of your closest friends are going to be angels. Your closest friends are going to be angels of God - the cherubim of His glory! You are going to get to know them in these days - they are going to reveal themselves to you. You will even get to know their names. I see angels on the left of us and on the right of us and between those cherubim of His glory - I see His glory Presence coming down on us!

These are the days when our closest friends will be angels of God! Oh, my friend went out running the other day (his name is Tony) and he was doing these laps and he was feeling quite discouraged. Suddenly he saw a mighty angel right next to him and he reckons it was an angel of encouragement and he heard the angel saying; "Tony go for it! Keep going! You are doing well! Run man! Keep going Tony! Pick up the pace and run!".

I see heaven open! I see the angels of glory - the cherubim angels of His glory coming down upon us that are in Christ bringing the glory Presence of God! God come in Your glory! Bring your glory! We say "Come angels descend upon Christ in these days in Jesus Name!".

Whatever we may make of that prophecy - we cannot deny that angels are ministering spirits sent to serve the mission of God and indeed us in these final days. Countless men and women through the Bible saw angels manifest to them in times of need. Why not us? We are at the climax of the consumation of the ages! Do we not need angels in these days? Maybe those with inbuilt "discernment detectors" are going mad at this point. Yes indeed Lucifer appears as an angel of light - but genuine angels will not point to themselves or draw attention to themselves. Indeed the Word of God makes it quite plain they won't even allow any worship of them. That was my experience in Hong Kong. The angel who appeared to me wouldn't even let me look at him but kept point towards the glory of God.
